Medical Communications Associates has assembled a business and development team of impressive breadth and depth.

The management group brings a wealth of knowledge from medical, financial, technical and commercial spheres.

Among the members of the software development team are individuals with skills as diverse as Geographical Information Systems, clinical messaging, financial processing, aerospace engineering and retail software (not to mention a decade on the road with a popular rock group, championship smallbore shooting and at least eight languages between them).

Stephen is a director of a number of software companies in the IT and Health sectors and has over 35 years of experience in most aspects of Public, Private and Supplier sectors.

He brings expertise in conceptualising, designing and commercialising packaged software applications. For the last 25 years he has successfully guided the development and sales of medical, government and banking software applications.

Stephen's experience includes IT Manager at Commonwealth Railways and Government Account Manager with NCR Corporation. Earlier technical areas included Operating System support, Programming, Systems Analysis and Design, working at Control Data Corporation and Treasury.

Stephen graduated in Biochemistry, obtained a post-graduate qualification in computing and subsequently gained university qualifications in French, German, Spanish and Japanese languages.

Clinical Director

Dr Braund is an endocrinologist specialising in diabetes, and a senior visiting specialist at several major public and private hospitals.

He maintains an extensive understanding of the capabilities and limitations of the IT industry, is a major contributor to the design of MCA's clinical interfaces, and oversees the ethical and medical issues involved in the handling of clinical data.

Dr Braund has more than 30 years' medical experience including clinical research in Diabetes at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford, a year of Royal Flying Doctor Service in Australia's remote Outback, and time as Associate Dean for Postgraduate Training at Flinders Medical Centre / Flinders University School of Medicine.

Dr Braund has operated in private specialty practice since 1987 as a consultant physician in Endocrinology, Diabetes and General Medicine. He continues to be an Honorary Lecturer in the School of Medicine, Flinders University, and is a Senior Visiting Specialist at two teaching hospitals.

Peter Karidis is Managing Director of Karidis Corporation, a private investment fund manager and developer of residential communities.

Peter was co-founder of AirNet Commercial, an IT&T company and carrier specialising in Next Generation wireless telecommunications solutions. AirNet deployed the WLAN Network for the World Congress on IT 2002.

He was a founding member, director and shareholder of m.Net Corporation Ltd, a Wireless R&D consortium encompassing Telstra, Cisco, Compaq, AirNet and others. This was the first 3G mobile research & development network in the Southern hemisphere.

Peter has a strong commitment to building a vibrant, expanding economy with particular emphasis on the entrepreneurial. He has delivered presentations for international trade missions in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Shanghai and Macau.

Peter's strategic input comes from a wide knowledge base in the fields of Private Fund Management, Big Data, Hospitality, Aged Care and the Construction industry.
